Write about how culture is different in china and the U.S.
in what ways does the U.S. do things for superficial beauty? What is the
significance of the title?
The culture is a lot
different than from other in china, according to the story ribbons. In the U.S.
we don’t have strict rules, like how you greet someone or really treat someone.
It’s like how the girl hugged the grandma, but the grandma shunned her because
in china they really don’t hug each other, they bow.
The way china used to think of getting beauty, was bending
your toes back and making them form with the bottom of your foot. In the
U.S. we wear makeup, get plastic
surgery, and lots more. The title fit in because the ribbons meant what they
rapped their feet in so there was no pain. Also the ribbons set the grandma and the
daughter up for bad friendship.
